Dr. Kyle K. Wetzel has been engineering state of the art wind turbine systems since 1993 in a variety of capacities, including as Engineering Manager of New Product Development of Enron Wind in the late 1990s and since 2001 as the owner of several engineering and manufacturing companies. Dr. Wetzel has provided services to numerous OEMs around the world engineering dozens of blade designs from 3m to 105m in length. Since 2007 Dr. Wetzel has also supported owners, operators, insurers, and investors with engineering support for operations of blades, including root cause analyses, engineered repairs, repair supervision, and risk assessments. He holds 14 patents on technologies related to wind turbine rotor blades and aviation. He is the Technical Advisor (Chairman) of the USTAG for IEC TC88 and is a member of the IEC TC88 MT5, MT24, and PT101 committees. Dr. Wetzel is an Associate Fellow of AIAA and a Fellow of ASME. He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas.
