Billie Jones has worked in the wind industry for 16 years. Billie started her wind career in 2007 when she was hired by General Electric as a wind turbine technician, working from the Sweetwater Service Center. Billie has experience in all aspects of O&M, plus new component trials, and substation program work. Billie has been a Lead Technician onsite, team lead, technician, warehouse auditor, and a bit of everything in-between.
Mrs. Jones has been with Texas State Technical College (TSTC) as an instructor for 6 years, instructing various safety and working at height classes. TSTC has been delivering GWO certified training since January of 2021.
Mrs. Jones took over as the State Department Chair of Wind Energy Technology for Texas State Technical College 4 years ago. In this role, she oversees programs on 2 TSTC campuses with 7 instructors, and an enrollment of approximately 200 aspiring wind technicians and she works hand in hand with industry partners to ensure that the next generation of technicians is equipped with more than adequate knowledge to step safely into their roles.
